In Halifax, it is estimated that hundreds of men, women and children are homeless on any given night. On November 10th, I will be participating in the Hockey Helps the Homeless Halifax Tournament, raising awareness and funding for two local homeless support agencies : Veterans Emergency Transition Services and Adsum House for Woman & Children.
Hockey Helps the Homeless invests in solutions that ensure fewer individuals and families end up on the streets. They support organizations and programs committed to ending homelessness through housing, transportation initiatives, mental health support, education, health and wellness, training and employment.
This is my first year participating in this fundraiser and I set a goal to raise $1000. Tax receipts will be issued upon receipt of the donation for all gifts $25 and above. Please show your support in donating and if you're in the area come watch me play some hockey Thursday November 10th at the RBC center in Dartmouth.
