Like many families in Montreal and across Canada, ours has been directly impacted by homelessness far too often. In our fair city alone, it is estimated that over 3,000 men, women and children experience homelessness on any given night. My sister and I are looking to help reduce these numbers and lessen the impacts of homelessness on our fellow Montrealers and their loved ones. On June 6th, we will be participating in the Hockey Helps the Homeless Montreal Tournament, raising funds and awareness for over 15 local homeless support agencies in and around Montreal.
When donating our precious time and/or money, we recognize that trust is vital. Hockey Helps the Homeless has been helping people and communities across Canada for almost 30 years, and I was personally involved with the organisation as a volunteer and employee in the past. We can assure you firsthand that HHTH has the vision, history, heart, programs, partners and governance to maximize the impacts of your generous gift.
Hockey Helps the Homeless supports local organizations and programs committed to ending homelessness through initiatives relating to housing, transportation, mental health, education, health and wellness, and training and employment. Liane and I support Hockey Helps the Homeless and their invaluable mission, and would encourage you to do the same. No donation is too small and there may be a few remaining event-day volunteer opportunities for those who prefer to donate their time.
Looking to donate by cheque? Cheques can be made payable to Hockey Helps the Homeless and mailed to Head Office at 44 East Beaver Creek, Unit #4, Richmond Hill, Ontario, L4B 1G8. Please specify player name in the memo line. Tax receipts will be issued upon receipt of the donation for all gifts of $25 and above.
