In York Region, it is estimated that 250 to 300 youth between the ages of 13 to 26 are homeless on any given night, but together we can change this statistic. On December 9th, I will be participating in the Hockey Helps the Homeless York Region Tournament, raising awareness and funding for 360°Kids and Blue Door, two local youth support agencies right here in York Region. I'm excited to be playing in this tournment for the third year.
There’s more than one story when it comes to how people end up homeless and that’s why there is more than one way to help. Hockey Helps the Homeless invests in solutions that ensure fewer individuals and families end up on the streets. We support organizations and programs committed to ending homelessness through housing, transportation initiatives, mental health support, education, health and wellness, training and employment, but we need your help.
