Welcome to Mary Prime's Page
This summer, Eric, my son, and I are co-captaining a team in the Hockey Helps the Homeless Canada Life Cup. 100% of net proceeds raised will go to Eva's Initiatives For Homeless Youth in Toronto.
We got involved with Hockey Helps the Homeless through my late husband, Steve Prime, who helped out along with his Magoos Hockey Team in the Bag Drop area. In memory of Steve I accepted the first Prime Time Volunteer award last year. He and I have always had a heart for homeless people and this year, I was able to form a team because Covid-19 has changed the fundraiser to a virtual one - no hockey playing right now. Eric is involved with HHTH and we decided to captain a team to raise funds for Eva's.
Right now, Toronto’s homeless youth need our help more than ever. Homeless shelters in the city have been drained of funding and resources in order to support the new unprecedented costs they are facing as a result of COVID-19 including additional staffing costs, personal protective equipment (PPE), transportation, increased sanitation and food security. Since March, they have been working around the clock to ensure our community’s most vulnerable residents are safe. But their costs have increased an their funding sources have dried up. They need our help.
Be a game changer today by supporting the cause and help bring hope to our most vulnerable through these difficult times. Together, with your support, we can reach our fundraising goal and shutout homelessness in Toronto. Hockey tournament or not, it’s bigger than the game and we can all be part of the solution.
Thanks for your support.
xo, Mary
