As many of you know I play Wednesday morning pickup in the Impact Hockey League. Not only is this league a whole lot of fun, but the foundation is to have a positive impact in our communities.
This year I will be participating in the Hockey Helps the Homeless tournament. 100% of the net proceeds of this tournament will go to support 2 local charities, Armagh House and REgeneration.
Armagh is a second stage, transitional supportive housing programme that offers secure and affordable housing to abused women, with or without children, for extended periods of time.
Below is an experience from a past Armagh House’s resident
“The staff has created an amazing atmosphere, and I’m so thankful to Armagh for helping me, even after I have left. Without your help, I don’t know what would’ve happened to me and my children. You gave me hope. I waited 13 years for this to happen, and I feel like it’s destiny that my case was solved in your hands. I’ll never forget how you helped me at Armagh and when I left Armagh. Your kindness is unlimited.”
REgeneration is a caring community serving people who are experiencing homeless, precariously housed, or who live in extreme poverty.
Tax receipts will be issued upon receipt of the donation for all gifts $25 and above.
