Mum at the Gathering Place
Welcome to Andrew's Fundraising Page!
Hello Everyone
As most of you know, I feel honoured to participate in the Hockey Helps the Homeless Annual Tournament. This amazing event raises close to $500,000 every year for the most vulnerable people in our community - the Homeless people of Greater Vancouver. Due to COVID-19, last year's tournament had to be cancelled and the funds usually raised by HHTH were not available to the many organizations helping our most vulnerable citizens. Given the impact of the pandemic, let's work together to ensure the 2021 Tournament raises more money than ever before!
As in previous years, I'm dedicating this year's event to my Mother (Diane MacKenzie) who dedicated her life to helping the most vulnerable in society. It's hard to believe that she left us six years ago, but I think of my Mum (and her amazing contribution) every time I walk past the Carnegie Centre or Gathering Place. She was always there for the most vulnerable, especially the homeless.
In Vancouver, it is estimated that over 3,600 men, women and children are homeless on any given night, but together we can change this statistic. On November 26th, I will be participating in the Hockey Helps the Homeless Vancouver Tournament, raising awareness and funding for local homeless support agencies right here in Greater Vancouver.
There’s more than one story when it comes to how people end up homeless and that’s why there is more than one way to help. Hockey Helps the Homeless invests in solutions that ensure fewer individuals and families end up on the streets. We support organizations and programs committed to ending homelessness through housing, transportation initiatives, mental health support, education, health and wellness, training and employment, but we need your help.
I would be honoured if you could help support this important fundraising event. Tax receipts will be issued upon receipt of the donation for all gifts $25 and above.
