For the tenth year in a row I will participate in the Hockey Helps the Homeless Vancouver Tournament, which takes place on November 25.
Each of us is all too aware of the homelessness problem in Vancouver. Attempts by government fall short in dealing with the problem. It therefore falls upon the generosity of well-off individuals to attack the funding deficit that seems to grow by the year.
Hockey Helps the Homeless has been instrumental in supporting organizations and programs committed to ending homelessness through housing, transportation initiatives, mental health support, education, health and wellness, training and employment. For those of us who are not on the front lines working in person for the benefit of society's most vulnerable, a donation to this most worthy charity is the next most effective way to assist those who are truly in need.
Many of you have supported my annual drive to raise funds in past years, and for that I thank you. I would be grateful if you are able to donate again this year to this most worthy of causes.
Tax receipts will be issued upon receipt of the donation for all gifts $25 and above.
Should you wish to donate by cheque, please make it payable to Hockey Helps the Homeless. I would be pleased to personally retrieve the cheque from you prior to November 25, 2022.
