Have you ever had to worry about going to sleep at night without a roof over your head?
This is a basic human right that many of us, as Canadians, take for granted. Over 6,000 Canadian youth lack this necessity, while 1.2 million face poverty. The Kingston Youth Shelter provides emergency relief, transition housing and other support programs for homeless youth.
On March 1st, I will be participating in the Hockey Helps the Homeless Queen's University Tournament, raising awareness and funding for a vital local youth support agency, the Kingston Youth Shelter. Through my participation, I am hoping to raise $1000 for KYS. Together, we can improve the lives of the less fortunate and strengthen our community as a whole.
There’s more than one story when it comes to how people end up homeless and that’s why there is more than one way to help. Hockey Helps the Homeless invests in solutions that ensure fewer individuals and families end up on the streets. We support organizations and programs committed to ending homelessness through housing, transportation initiatives, mental health support, education, health and wellness, training and employment, but we need your help.
Be a game changer today by supporting the cause and help bring hope to our most vulnerable! Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
