Last year we made a difference, let's do it again.
Hockey's been a big part of my life. Whether it be playing the game, being a fan, being a mascot for a local junior league team and entertaining others, hockey has been the one thing I could count on, which it felt natural to use hockey to do my part to fight the on going problem known as homelessness. It is not just a problem exclusive to London, homeless is a world wide issue. However I am only one guy and cannot do this alone. Last year we raised $1072 (tournament total $184451.52) to fight homelessness in London, and my goal for the 2020 event is to surpass that.
From registration to the day of the event I learned a lot, and what stood out the most was some of my friends have experienced homelessness at least once in their lives. These are good people, showing that homelessness does not discriminate. It helped motivate me up to and including the event, and made me decide to do it all over again.
To those who helped this past year, thank you again. I humbly ask for your continued support as for the second year in a row I skate to fight homelessness in London. Mark May 9, 2020 on your calendar, it’ll be a day we change the lives of many,
